The best is yet to come…
Never be afraid to speak uncomfortable truths to your boss; as long as you act with integrity, this seems to be the quickest way to get promoted! And they say that if you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life, so I think that is something to aspire to.
Favorite quote, or your own
“The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.” ― Marcus Aurelius
Fondest memory from your time at IE
Giving the graduation speech. I was so nervous, but I will never forget being embraced by my classmates, and the outpouring of gratitude I received from all the students, their families and the staff at IE.
What are your aspirations for the future?
To have a balanced life, to create something that is meaningful, and to be present for my children.
How did IE make an impact on your life?
Friends for life all over the world and a new perspective on how business works.
What did you like most about Madrid?
Laid back vibe, Retiro park on your doorstep, great restaurants and bars, and sunny weather… what’s not to love?!
What is the biggest challenge you have faced, and how did you tackle it?
Honestly, it was probably the MBA. My kids were seriously ill in hospital during that year, but thanks to the strength and support of my wife and family, as well as the efforts of the administrative staff at IE, I was able to dedicate myself to my studies and do my best.
Song which reminds you of your time at IE
“Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler and “Winds of Change” by the Scorpions.
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Anything that is new: new ideas, meeting new people, creating something new, going to new places. The excitement is in the discovery.
